Postcommodities... Architecture after Stuff. *AR STUFF*
This past semester was a lot, it was full of work but most importantly, it was full of STUFF. As a research assistant with BetaMatter Lab at Taubman College and with Xavi (fka Laida) Aguirre, some of my time was spent exploring and working on AR Content for the Fall 2021 symposium, Postcommodities... Architecture after Stuff. The symposium, an ArtsEngine funded initiative was already packed with STUFF but the use of AR as a means to cheaply being more STUFF into the project was conceptually fitting. This prototype is the finalized product but it only stands as iteration 1. With that said, the idea of AR as a way to bypass the static website and place users into an active environment database of symposium content is somewhat radical in itself. My contributions to the project were the AR component and exploration, all other work, content, intervention, and multimedia rigging were done by Xavi Aguirre and their team. It was a pleasure to be a part of the team and learn so much from them as they realized this incredible happening.
