Submission: Rise in the City

My submission entry for plot #031as an artist in the Rise in the City art auction sponsored by Rise at the Angel Orensanz Foundation. Event: October 25th, 2017. 

Interpretations of Litema Patterns found on Lesotho vernacular were appropriated and placed upon an object defined as New York vernacular, the automobile; NYC inspired me to replicate the materialistic nature of those "purchasing" culture, only to find their understanding to be surface level like the paint of this car. The car, lodged into the land is metaphor for the individual explained about, an individual that find themselves stuck, neither advancing their knowledge of culture or progression of self worth through the comodification of the culture itself.
